I want to thank everyone for the love and support in 2009. The Luna Show started off as a fun project but it turned into an important part of our already rich ballroom culture. The Luna Show started off because when you research ballroom history there isnt always enough information, I thought it was crazy that all people know about ballroom is Paris is Burning. The ball scene is an exciting part of our lives and we each hold a piece of its history.



The Luna Show #115 Benefit Drag Show for M.A.C AIDS Fund

The Luna Show attended the benefit drag show for MAC makeup AIDS Fund at Club Escuelita. Tiah Legacy Carrera and the Carrera Drag Family put together this event. Its amazing and very empowering to see that people know the community needs to come together to create events that benefit those in need. MAC AIDS Fund was established in 1994 which supports men, women and families affected by HIV/AIDS globally. MAC has provided over 135 million to date.



The Luna Show #114 Dee Dee Khan: The Golden Gloves Girl

The Luna Show was having a Kiki on Thanksgiving weekend when we found ourselves having a great time with Miss Dee Dee Khan. Dee Dee was hilarious; we had a blast that evening. This 3 time winning Golden Gloves Champion kept it real about her life and it was nice seeing the other side of her. She was funny, candid and raw. We love you D!



The Luna Show #113 Tiah Legacy Carrera: Drag Entertainer

The Luna Show met up with drag queen performer and entertainer Tiah Legacy Carrera after GMHCs World AIDS Day event. She discussed her career as an entertainer and her professional make up work. She is a humble person looking to help the community come together for causes such as her fundraiser drag event on December 6, 2009 at Club Escuelita for MAC AIDS Fund.



A Luna Show Special: Vogue Evolution's World AIDS Day Performance & More

The Luna Show attended a World AIDS Day event at the Broadway United Church of Christ. This year ballroom was included in the program. As we may or may not know in the ballroom scene we have lost over 600 people to AIDS since 1980. Its important to remember them and the many years we struggled with HIV in the community. Numbers of HIV is still on the raise, especially between the ages of 13-25 year olds. That age is our next generation. Please take care of one another.

The Luna Show met up with Paris Garcon around Thanksgiving weekend 2009. She was very candid about her life and her career goals. She has a book that is coming out as well as a documentary about being a transgender women, Paris is a very busy woman. We had a good time that evening...lol

The Luna Show met up with Half Pint Ebony our adorable School Boi Realness outside a NYC Club. He discussed his 3 years in the ballroom scene as well as wanting to do other categories in the near future.



The Luna Show #110 Kelly Garcon Voguing Diva

The Luna Show ran into Kelly Garcon outside a NYC club during Thanksgiving weekend. Kelly has been a part of the scene since 1999 and has grown up so much since her early days. She is known for her own style of vogue performance.



The Luna Show #109 Candlelight Vigil for Jorge Mercado

Candlelight Vigil and Rally for teenager Jorge Mercado at the Christopher Street piers in NY. Jorge was killed and found by the side of a road in Puerto Rico. The police investigator suggested that he deserved what he got because of the "type of lifestyle" he was leading. This has caused the LGBT Community to come together and rally for our brothers and sisters lost to hate crimes. We must come together and be heard.



The Luna Show #108 GMHC's Fashion Forward 2009

Gay Men's Health Crisis 3rd Annual Fashion Forward fundraiser event in Manhattan NY. The event was hosted by Project Runway's Tim Gunn. Celebrities were everywhere including Wendy Williams, J Alexander from America's Next Top Model, Jack Mackenroth and many more. The fashion show was exciting as well as the silent auctions. Funds raised at this event will support the work of GMHC and the 15,000 Men, Women and Children that use GMHC for support.
